Very Good!

And God saw everything that He had made, and behold it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely. And there was the evening and there was the morning, a sixth day’ Gen.1:31 [AMP]

When reading the first chapter in Genesis, you’d observe that God created the heavens, the firmament, the stars, the sun, the moon, the earth, the vegetation, and all the animals. He even created a special garden before He made man. This simply points to the fact that God always goes ahead of us to prepare a place for us. And sometimes the place He prepares for us is in the presence of our enemies. While God is preparing a place for us many times it appears as if God is not working or He appears to be slow. The truth is that God is coming up with a plan that is beyond what you can ever come up with by yourself. Imagine Adam was kept in a room, waiting for God to introduce him to the world. The Bible says ‘a day with God is like a thousand years’. So day one, Adam is in that room waiting and wondering when he is going to come out. Day two, he is still wondering when it is going to happen. Day three – when will this thing happen? By day four, he starts to wonder – God, are you being slow? Can you hear my prayers? Have you abandoned me? And by the time it is day five, Adam is not even sure any more if it will ever happen for him. Then day six, the day breaks and Adam is introduced to the world. With God, what a lot of us count as negligence is actually preparation. God is preparing that thing, or that place, or that partner for you. And we devote time to lamenting that it is taking too long. Listen, God is preparing your life partner for you. So your prayer should be ‘God prepare me for the person you are preparing for me’. Sometimes for reasons best known to Him alone, God takes six days. Couldn’t God, the All Powerful, have completed the entire creation in one day? Think about it; I think He could have. Yet He decided to go day after day for six days. Listen, God is not slack concerning His promises. He may have taken His time with Abraham but sit down and consider the masterpiece He came up with for Abraham. Would you rather have the masterpiece or just anything that works? Guess what? Our God only comes up with the best and it is worth waiting for.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, for the glory that You have set before me, help me endure the waiting period by Your grace, in Jesus Name.
