Fill vs. Feel

Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].” (AMPC)

Our final thought from yesterday’s devotional was that marriage is not the solution to loneliness. The Holy Spirit is the only answer to loneliness. Marriage does not end loneliness. Again, this is always a shock to single people. The truth is that the only thing that ends loneliness is the presence of The Holy Spirit. Imagine how beautiful it would be if you have the presence of The Holy Spirit, and then you marry someone who also has the presence of The Holy Spirit. So, it is not that one person is needy and is like a leach.

“I cannot do without you…” Do not tell me you cannot do without me. Why would you not be able to do without me? Why would anyone marry a man or a woman who cannot do without you? They will kill you because they will demand from you what only God can give. They will place pressure on you that you cannot carry. Why? You are not God. I am not God. The only person you can please completely is The Holy Spirit. And the only person that can please you completely is The Holy Spirit. If you look to any man or woman to satisfy you completely, you will be frustrated for life. So, when you are satisfied and filled, the other person is also satisfied and filled. When you come together, boom! Not that the little anointing you are trying to manage, the other person is coming to suck everything. You will just feel drained and depleted.

I know that some of you reading this right now are probably thinking, I do not feel the Holy Spirit in the way that you have described. Okay maybe sometimes, but not all the time. The truth is your feelings do not confirm the reality of anything. Your feelings do not authenticate anything. There is nothing of value that your feelings authenticate. Nothing! Even the love you thought your feelings authenticated, after a while your eyes will clear. Feelings authenticate nothing. Some things exist whether you feel it or not.

Do you feel the blood going through your liver and your spleen right now? Do you feel the cells of your oesophagus and your medulla oblongata? Do you feel your brain right now? If you can feel your brain, then you have a headache. You do not feel your brain, so does that mean you do not have a brain? Some things exist that you do not feel, and it does not diminish their existence. The fact that you do not feel the presence of The Holy Spirit does not remove Him.

Prayer: Father, I ask for a fresh in-filling of The Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit I open the channels of my life to You, diffuse my soul and give me clear and loud expressions, in Jesus Name. Amen!
