All You Need
‘But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners’ Rom.5:8.
For you to have a fulfilled life as an individual, married or single, you must experience Philia and Agape. Philia is brotherly love, dispassionate love, loyal love, and friendship; and Agape is unconditional love. In other words, you must have people that are loyal to you and will love you in spite of yourself. If you lack that then you will have issues. For you and I to experience fulfilled lives, we must have in our lives brotherly love – people that are just our friends and unconditional love – people that love us in spite of ourselves. That is all you and I need to have a fulfilled life. ‘But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners’. God showed us Agape. In other words, unconditional and sacrificial love while we were still sinners Jesus died for us.
You don’t need to get married to have a fulfilled life. I know this might come as a shock to a number of people. The truth is that you can be married and miserable. Don’t get me wrong; if you want to get married you will get married in Jesus Name. But we need to just say these things as they are. Jesus was never married but Jesus had Agape and Philia. Jesus never experienced Eros and He lived a fulfilled life. Eros is sexual, passionate, intimate steamy love. Eros is where the word erotic is derived from. Jesus only had brotherly love from Peter, James, John, the three Mary’s and Agape unconditional love from His heavenly Father. In truth, that is all you need. You need to be able to tell yourself that that is all you need. For your life to be fulfilled all you need is Philia and Agape. When you are married or single, understanding this principle will help you. Sex is not love. One of the lies that the world is selling today is that sex is love. Sadly a lot of people are being misled to act against God’s commands by this singular lie. When the world talks about love, they always bring sex into it. Trying to tell us that without passionate, sexual love we cannot have love is very wrong.
Prayer: Father, thank You for love unconditional, unfailing, and without seasons. Help me choose my friends Lord, in Jesus Name.
