Ruth 1:14&16 “And again they wept together, and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-bye. But Ruth clung tightly to Naomi… “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.”
Beginning today, we will be zooming in on the story of Naomi and Ruth. God’s Word for us will take us to the more He has made us for in all the areas of our lives. We are made for more, and God is showing us how to walk in it.
Ruth 1:7-18 (please read). We see in this story that three people were on a journey back to Judah. They were on a journey to more because God had blessed His people. God had remembered His Covenant and His people were in abundance. So, these three people were on a journey to more. One person out of the three was already covenanted to more, and that is sweetness, Naomi.
So, the other two people started on a journey to more. Two of them were desirous for more. Two of them had a sense that they were made for more. But one person made it to more and the other person did not. I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that you will make it to more. I pray that in the journey of life, in your journey to greatness, you will make it to that destination in the Name of Jesus. When we look at life and look at the different situations, we see that that is how it really is. Everybody sets out on the journey to more. Some people make it, some people do not make it. A group of people get to their destination, and a group of people do not.
In the journey of life, I am praying that you will make it in the Name of Jesus. In the journey to more, I am praying that you will arrive at that place of abundance in the Name of Jesus. In the journey to surplus, to excess, I am praying that you will arrive at your destination in the Name of Jesus. Ruth 1:7-18 highlights two categories of people – Kissers and Cleavers. Who are Kissers and who are Cleavers? Kissers are those who when they get the opportunity and the numbers add up, they will kiss you, the situation, or the journey to their destiny goodbye. But in the immediate evaluation, they are making the best decision for themselves. Cleavers, on the other hand, are those who will receive a kiss but will remain on the path to more (to greatness). So, are you a kisser or are you a cleaver?
Just to put it out there, kissers are not betrayers or fair-weather friends. Betrayers are like the Judases of this world. Fair-weather friends are those who when the wind of the sail changes or the weather changes, will abandon you. Kissers are better than these because they will stick with you and not even betray you. Kissers will stick with you beyond the fair weather. And this is where you need to get it right, to discern people and situations properly to determine if you have been a kisser or not.
Prayer: Father, by Your Spirit, please guide me in my choices and decisions in every situation and on my journey to destiny, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
