Planted Not Eaten
Isaiah 30:23 “And he will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and bread, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. In that day your livestock will graze in large pastures” (ESV, emphasis added).
The first law of planting is Everything Starts As a Seed. The second law of planting is A Seed Has No Power Until It Is Planted. The third law of planting is Some Seeds Should Be Planted Instead Of Eaten. Many people are eating their future. Some have eaten their future, their children’s future, they are just eating everything. They do not understand that God gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater. But when God gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater, God does not separate it. Both come in the same form, as seed. It is you that determines which one is bread to eat and which one is seed to plant. If you eat your seed, that is it. You cannot plant your bread because once you have decided that it is bread, it is processed.
But if you eat your seed, you are eating the future. Joseph actually used this principle to save two nations – the nation of Egypt and the nation of Israel. Like we explained weeks ago, the pandemic was attacking the health of nations, and the recession was attacking the wealth of nations. But that was not the first time in history. The Word of God tells us clearly what to do and how to respond. Genesis 47:20,23-25 “…because the famine was so severe, and soon all the land belonged to Pharaoh… Then Joseph said to the people, “…I will provide you with seed so you can plant the fields. Then when you harvest it, one-fifth of your crop will belong to Pharaoh. You may keep the remaining four-fifths as seed for your fields and as food for you, your households, and your little ones.” “You have saved our lives!” they exclaimed…” (emphasis added).
This is so huge! I pray that God will give us all understanding in the Name of Jesus. The people were hungry. And because they were hungry, they sold their land to the government. You would think that Joseph would say, I will provide you with bread. Joseph said, I will provide you with seed, so you can plant crops. It means that these people did not have seeds, they must have eaten their seeds with their bread. God always makes provision for seed, every time, so you can plant crops. Joseph said, when they harvest, give twenty percent back to Pharoah and keep eighty percent. But do not eat all your seed! If you eat your seed, you are eating your future, and you will be back to square one. Use your seed to plant next year’s crops, so you can feed your family in the future. Just as it takes great faith to trust God and tithe, it also takes great faith to save. It takes great faith to invest. Some seeds should be planted instead of eaten.
Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to prioritize seed before bread in every inflow (harvest), in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
