Weed. Plant. Water.

Psalm 65:11-12 “You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy.”

The second question I have for you is, what personal ploughing and weeding do you need to do before planting? Jeremiah 4:3Your hearts have become hard, like an unploughed field where weeds have taken over. So plough up the hard ground of your hearts! Do not waste good seed by planting among weeds.” (CEV/NLT). How do I do that? It is simple. Many of us, have planted weeds—hatred, gossip, tearing things, people, and relationships apart. So how do you remove the weeds? You make good what you have done. You plough your heart in repentance. You correct and uproot the weeds. Then you can begin to sow good seeds. Before you can plant the seeds, you have to take out the weeds.

Before you can plant good seeds, you have to take out the weeds. And for some of you, the weed of your life is as a result of how this decade started. After the pandemic, you realized that you had moved away from Christ. You may be one leg in church, but you know where you were, and you know where you are now. You need to come back to Christ today. You need to recommit your life to Jesus. Do you know why? It is because it is time to plant. For you to see enlargement in your life, you need to work hard as though it all depends on you. And you need to pray hard as though it all depends on God.

When you work hard and pray hard, and you begin to see results, there is a tendency for the human to begin to ignore trusting God. And begin to rely one hundred percent on the arm of flesh, on himself, or on the systems of the world. The danger of that is that the trust barometer of your heart begins to shift away from the Lord to man. That man could be yourself or it could be someone that is in a position to help you. Jeremiah 17:5-6 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land.” You will not be stunted.

Your growth will not be stunted. The things you have planted and are growing will not be stunted in Jesus Name. There is something about the wilderness, it lacks irrigation and water. God is saying, water the seeds you have planted for your expansion. Where your trust is depends on the quality of water that is available to you. If the heart is tilted towards the arm of flesh, the land becomes dry. If the heart is tilted towards the Living God, the land is watered.

Prayer: Father, my eyes are on You, my trust is in You alone, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
