Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
We are still on the major thought from yesterday’s devotional which is that strongholds and battlefields are physical, mental, and spiritual. In the inserted image we see that the gears do not begin to work in the physical until they are initiated in the spiritual. When they are initiated in the spiritual, then the mental gear begins to work. Once you have that pattern—that it is the spiritual that impacts your mind, and you build from your spiritual. You define and break down mental strongholds and build solid mental strongholds. Then physical enlargement becomes effortless if you will.
However, if you use your spiritual resources to affect your physical condition, and you do not change your mind, it will be like living in the wilderness. It will be like having results that are not lasting. The reason a lot of people lose ground after seasons of intense spiritual activity is that the change did not happen in the mind. Imagine there is a cube of sugar on the table that is infested with ants. If you drive away the ants and you leave the cube of sugar on the table, what will happen eventually? The ants will come back. When we engage in spiritual warfare to drive away the “ants”, we still need to take out the “sugar”. That is what the mind represents.
You need to take away the sugar and clean the table, and you do not have to worry about the ants. In fact, if you leave the ants, but you take out the sugar and clean the table, the ants will eventually go. This is why we see people who actually build their minds and affect their world without being effective spiritually. It is very possible to operate it from the mind, and that is what gives man the deceptive arrogance. However, when light comes into that mind, spiritually the mind is enlightened, and then the mind can bring about eternal changes (even in the individual) in the world that are relevant spiritually.
On those three dimensions—mental, physical, and spiritual, there are three types of strongholds. First, the Negative Strongholds are the ones that we should pull down and destroy. Second, the Positive Strongholds are the ones that we should build and erect. Third, the Temporal Strongholds are not negative and are not always positive.
Prayer: Father, as I engage Your Word daily, flood my mind with Your light and destroy every negative mental stronghold, in Jesus Name. Amen!
