For Eternity
2 Corinthians 4:14&18 “because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us… to himself… So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (NIV)
Do you want to know how long God has been planning eternity with Him for you? Do you want to know how long God has been preparing a place for you and me?
Matthew 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.” (NIV, emphasis added).God has been preparing this place for you and me since the foundations of the world. Now imagine you have just been told that the Pastoral team is coming to your house, and you have five minutes to prepare. You will run around the best you can to put something together.
However, if you had five hours, you would do better. If you have five days to prepare, you will do better still. Now imagine you have five weeks to prepare, you would blow their minds. Guess what? God has been preparing a place for you and me since the creation of the world. Wow! I am grateful. Therefore, regardless of what I am going through, I am able to see the big picture. If we do not need what God has, He will not prepare it. The person making the preparation must also know the people he is preparing for. God knows us. He knows what is best for us and He has had time to prepare for us. It must be a grand place!
People paint a picture of heaven as being all white and we are all wearing white robes. That is not true. How do I know? Look around you. Look at the earth. As broken as the earth is, the earth has lost its glory literally, but the earth is still a beautiful place. Go online and search for stunning views of the earth and just bask in the breath-taking views. If the earth, as broken as it is, is still this beautiful, stunning, colourful, and brilliant. Then heaven will be much more beautiful. Heaven is not where we will all be wearing white robes and singing hymns. No, heaven is going to be fun because God has been planning it from the foundations of the earth. And He is the same God who formed, decorated, and populated the earth in just six days. And see how beautiful and sustained it still is.
But guess what? He has been planning this place for us before the foundations of the earth. It didn’t take one day, one year, one decade, or even one century. He has been building and planning this place since the creation of the world. Heaven is going to be awesome. You don’t want to miss it. Trust me. It is not everybody that will get into this place God has prepared. It is only for His children. You become a child of God when you choose to make Jesus your Lord.
Prayer: Father, I am grateful for the home You have prepared for me since the creation of the world and I ask that You prepare me for eternity with You, in Jesus Name. Amen!
