Christ Alone

Hebrews 12:3 “Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” (NIV).

There are two statements you must never say because they are guaranteed to deplete your energy, deflate your power, and flatten your battery. The first statement you must never say is No One Has Ever Faced This. When we go through difficult situations, we are convinced that no one has ever been through this. Nobody knows the trouble I’ve seen; nobody knows my sorrows. Have you heard that song before? You may want to think, or the enemy would want to deceive you into thinking that you have been given a special package of trouble that nobody else has seen in this world and nobody else understands. It is a lie!

There is nothing that has happened to you and that will happen to you that is not common to man. It is common to man, that is what the Bible says. Don’t bite the bait. But Pastor, why is my own life like this, out of all my friends and family? Listen, there is nothing that has happened to you or that is happening to you that has not happened to people before and will not happen to people after you. The point remains God is faithful, and He will make a path of escape for you in the Name of Jesus. You cannot see the path of escape if you keep complaining. So, don’t ever believe that lie that no one has ever faced this before.

The second lie is that no one can possibly endure this. This trouble is too much, even God cannot expect one person to endure this. It is a lie because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You must never forget that. Never forget that the Greater One lives in you. No matter what you face, greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You will overcome in the Name of Jesus. One statement that guarantees renewed strength and guarantees renewed energy is Jesus DIED For Me. Jesus loved you so much that He died for you. Yes, Jesus loves you. He loves you so much, He died for you!

Consider Jesus and be encouraged. They spat on his face, pulled His beard, slapped Him, and nailed Him to the cross. You have to been nailed to a cross and I pray you won’t be. The point is Jesus did that for you and me. Jesus is the only source of strength and life. When you look at all the other men (Sango, Obatala, Buddha, Mohammed, Krishna, Moses) who claimed to be representatives of God or guides of life, you can say that they lived but now they are dead. It is only of Jesus that we can say, Jesus was dead but now Jesus is Alive! To find encouragement in the cross is to find encouragement and strength in the resurrection of Jesus.

Prayer (song): For He is worthy, to receive glory, honour, and praise. Now unto the Lamb upon the Throne, we raise a sound, we raise a sound. Amen!
