Checks And Balances III
‘Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasures and inner turmoil’ Prov.15:16.
People who love and trust money have money in their hands but they don’t have peace in their hearts. If any of what we are studying in this season applies to you, then you have been deceived and you need to be delivered from that deception today. God is your source and He will provide for your needs. How do you know you don’t have peace? You know you don’t have peace when you consistently say, “If only I had more money, A.B.C.D”. I am pointing you to the source today. You do not need more money, you need more of God. If you can secure God, money will come. Some people have been born again for decades but they are still poor. The Holy Spirit will give you a deeper understanding of these things if you will open your heart to Him. And money will never be a problem for you in your life, in Jesus Name.
People who love and trust money find it increasingly difficult to give big. And this has nothing to do with whether they have a lot or a little. Pride is not a function of wealth or poverty. There are poor people that are extremely proud and there are wealthy people that are extremely humble. Also there are poor people that are humble and rich people that are extremely proud. ‘They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.3 For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will’ 2Cor.8:2-3. This group of believers did not have a lot but they gave. No preacher came and manipulated them or arm-twisted them into giving. Whereas people that love and trust money find it increasingly difficult to give big. The challenge of such people is that they always say “I will give when…”. But God is saying “Give Now!” They say “God make this break through happen then I will give when the break through happens”. God says no, give now then watch the break through happen. The key thing here is until we learn how to be content we can never be rich because it always takes more than you currently have to be satisfied. Are you satisfied with and enjoying what God has blessed you with now? In the direct words of Jesus, seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added. Make God priority.
Thought: Have you been loving and trusting money? Its time to change your priorities.
Prayer: Father, please have mercy on me. I choose to make Jesus alone my focus. Father, help me walk totally free from the deceitfulness of riches, in Jesus Name.
