Rich Givers
‘Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others’ 1Tim.6:18.
God has blessed me with more than I need. I am grateful. I am rich. I will not trust in riches but in Him who richly provides for me. It is important that you realize that you are rich. It is not so much of a prophecy, it is a fact, and it is the truth. You are rich. Let me remind you that if you earn fifty thousand a month for instance, you are richer than five billion people on earth and you are in the top 21% richest people in the world. If there are a hundred students in a class and your child comes 21st out of a hundred you wont kill that child would you? You may punish him a little like I would but you will still be grateful to God. If you earn a hundred thousand a month, you are in the top 15% richest people in the world. And if you earn two hundred and fifty thousand in a month, you are in the top 2% richest people in the world. Lets say in that same class of a hundred, your child comes 2nd, will you flog him? Well if you were me maybe just a knock on the head. A lot of us, if not all of us, were asked, “Did the person in the 1st position have two heads?” My point really is that a lot of us don’t realize how much God has helped us. You need to start by realizing and then thank God for how He has helped you. Some people may question your desire to thank God for just an ordinary bag. Ignore that and even thank God for the water you drink. The truth is that we are not as grateful as we have been blessed. God wants us to be grateful; God wants you to be grateful.
The question is not if you are rich but why did God make you rich. The answer is ‘Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others’ 1Tim.6:18. God wants you and I to be able to give more and more and more. God wants us to be generous. ‘You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God’ 2 Cor.9:11 [NIV]. Be generous on every occasion and not just when you are in a good mood. God wants us to be big givers. God wants us to be rich givers. And the way to give more is to learn to give more. I had to learn to give and more and more. You can learn to give more.
Prayer: Father, please help me realize how much You have helped me. Help me see Your hand as You help me daily and help me be thankful for it, in Jesus Name.
