Don’t Be Deceived I
“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body” Col.2:9
The lack of sufficiency in Christ can be made up of four things: Rationalism, Legalism, Mysticism, or asceticism. Rationalism simply means human wisdom – explain it. Like the blind man, you can’t explain the blessings of God; it comes because the Bible says that For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. You can’t explain God, you can’t explain the way He does things. He is God and we are not. Legalism means ceremony, rituals, and religious routines. You have to do things in a certain way to show that you are a Christian. Legalism can go as far and as wide as your mind can imagine – the ceremonies people want to throw on you. You know the Bible says, “He who the Lord sets free is free indeed” John 8:36. It’s not about your outward appearance, it’s not about what you have or what you don’t have; it’s all about Jesus. If you want to go around without combing your hair, it doesn’t make you more righteous than the person that combs his or her hair. Many times Christians have been intimidated into believe that it is about what they do. But the truth is that it is all about Jesus. Mysticism means spiritual experiences, a paranormal experience, and visions. Saul had been chosen by God but when he didn’t live out the sufficiency of Christ, he found himself going to a medium to ask for the ghost of the dead prophet Samuel. Many of us are so carried away by “revelations”. Even the Bible says that the devil can appear like an angel of light. The devil has been around for so long and he is not foolish. He cannot outsmart us because we have the wisdom of God but he will keep trying until he can get a weak point. But that will not be our portion, in Jesus Name. That is why we have to be established in the sufficiency of Christ, the wisdom of God, the knowledge of God, and the power of God, so we can fight against the deceptions of the devil. If you are easily moved/deceived by people that tell you “dreams”, they will use it to get a way into your life. But am I saying that people cannot see visions from God? No, the Bible says that our old men shall see visions and it is of God [Joel 2:28]. What I am saying is when you use it as a way to confirm that you are of God, or that you are born again, then that is a problem. Someone can speak to you about a vision but it should align with what God is telling you, or what God has revealed to you, or what you know God will have you do in accordance with His Word. It should be a confirmation because you are in a relationship with God.
Prayer [song]: Everything (2x), Lord You are everything to me. My treasure, my priority, who can compare to You? Great is the measure of Your royalty. O Morning Sir, You truly are everything. Amen!
