And God Said: Ask Anything

That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!” 1 Kings 3:5

Solomon loved the Lord and followed all the decrees of his father, David, …The most important of these places of worship was at Gibeon, so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings. That night the Lord appeared…, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!’ [1 Kings 3:3-5]. And God said and God is still saying ask anything that you want. First comes the deed, then God shows up and presents a blank cheque and then goes even further to cap that with a promise of fulfillment. This is a good place to be! For Solomon it was obedience and sacrifice with a personal touch and God showed up, gave him a blank cheque and the promise. You have to understand that it also has a lot to do with the heart. Solomon loved God and went the extra mile with his sacrifice to God. He did not just send his servants to do it; he went there personally and offered the sacrifice himself. There is nothing like getting to a place where God gives you a blank cheque. Guess what, as a born again believer in Christ Jesus who has professed Jesus as your Lord and Master, Jesus has shown up, given you the blank cheque and the promise of fulfillment too. ‘You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!’ [John 14:13-14]. Jesus took it a step further for your sake and mine, He gave us a twofold guarantee. The Amplified version puts it this way, ‘[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]’. I hope these births a hunger in you to love, obey, and sacrifice for Jesus.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach me to love You with my heart, my actions and my resources. Thank You Lord for a blank cheque and the guarantee of satisfaction in Jesus Name.
