Spiritual Influence

“…I, Daniel, learned from reading the word of the Lord… that Jerusalem must lie desolate for seventy years. So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and fasting. I also wore rough burlap and sprinkled myself with ashes. Dan.9:2-3

I am praying that you will have influence with God. God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and Abraham knew that it is not enough to hear from heaven, you must be willing and able to engage. And he engaged the Maker of the heavens and the earth. Abraham says do not be upset O God, if you find fifty people in the land will you still destroy the Land? God says for fifty I will not destroy the land. God was about to go and Abraham said please Sir what about forty? God says alright for forty I will not destroy it. Then he says I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Maker of the heavens and the earth, do not slap me Lord, what about thirty? God says for thirty I will not destroy the land. He says now this is sounding ridiculous O Lord but please for twenty’s sake. God says for twenty I will not destroy the land. Abraham thought to himself Lot, his wife, his two daughters their husbands and each wife traditionally would have two house helps attached to them which brings their number to ten. There must be ten people because Lot was taught to command his house after God. Abraham thought there must be ten people that are living for God. God what if there are ten people? God says for ten I won’t destroy the land [Translated Gen.18]. So Abraham stopped but God got to Sodom and Gomorrah and He could not find ten people. I am praying again that you will have power with God. God said to Moses, I am going to wipe out these children of Israel, they have upset Me. and Moses said remember if you wipe them out Your enemies will laugh at You. God says that is true, Moses you are a wise boy; I will not wipe them out. This is a conversation with the Maker of the heavens and the earth. You must have power with God, you must able to put your head on God’s breast and just listen. So I said to my wife this is the statement but as God lives I am going to over turn it and we overturned it by the grace of God. I did not even tell the prayer unit because I have to stand as the priest before the throne of God and make intercession and God cancelled it. Many of you are too jittery, you run helter-skelter for nothing.  Running from one prayer meeting to another. Just stand before God!

“I need someone to mediate between God and me, as a person mediates between friends” Job.16:21. Job saw his helplessness to engage God on his matter. Job was saying I wish I had a friend that will stand with me and influence heaven. But guess what? Scripture says you and I have an Advocate in Jesus that forever lives to make intercession for us before the throne of the Father.
