Keys To Effortless Worship III

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little” Phil.4:12

David had a carefree heart. He was more concerned about God than what people said about him. A carefree heart is not an irresponsible heart or a heart in denial, instead it is a heart that is anchored on the assurance of the love and faithfulness of the Father, and refuses to fret. But instead trusts and thanks God for His Good and perfect will that is there to do us good. I pray that God will empower you to live a stress free life as you develop a carefree heart. Thank God for everything and the peace of God that people cannot understand will keep your heart. In other words, you will be at the office where everybody’s complaining and wondering what will happen next but you are at peace and they are wondering, ‘what is wrong with him or her?’ The peace of God that surpasses all understanding is keeping your heart free of worry and anxiety. While others might be experiencing a casting down, you are experiencing a lifting up.

A content heart: A heart of worship is a content heart. “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have” Phil4:11 [emphasis added]. Many of us we need to learn to be content. And contentment has nothing to do with poverty or riches. You can be a poor greedy person you can be a rich greedy person. There was this young man who was having serious blood pressure issues and it was a major concern for his doctor. His problem was that anytime he thinks there may be someone else in the state where he lives that is richer than he is, he cannot sleep. The man I speak of is wealthy but if he is trying to sleep and it occurs to him that this person may be making more money, he gets out of bed and starts to work. Contentment has nothing to do with whether you have a lot or you have a little. Some people think if I can just get ‘xyz’, I would be fine. Think about it, five years ago when you did not have ‘abc’, did you not think if you could just get it you will be fine? And now that you have it, are you fine? You know why you are not fine? You are not content.

Contentment is not complacency. They are two different things. I am not saying you should be complacent. Totally different! I am saying you should be content. Be content. You have one car, be content. You do not have a car, be content. “Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you ownLuke 12:15. Many times the reason our hearts are not flowing with worship is because of discontentment.

Prayer: Father, teach me to be satisfied in You always and not in material possessions, in Jesus Name.
