Alive!

Then he got in the boat, his disciples with him. The next thing they knew, they were in a severe storm. Waves were crashing into the boat—and he was sound asleep! They roused him, pleading, “Master, save us! We’re going down!” Matt.8:23-23 [MSG]

Please read Matthew 8:23-27. Sometimes, you are just minding your business, going about life as you have planned and then suddenly, a terrible storm rises in your life. And you wonder where it came from? I have good news for you, because you have come into the Presence of the Lord, the storm will be still. Jesus rebuked the wind and the wind obeyed Him. Interestingly, Jesus is still alive and well. He is still able to do miracles, and He still does miracles. The challenge particularly in our times, is all sorts of false teachers have arisen and they are doing all sorts of strange false miracles. In fact, some actually stage-manage miracles [as if God needs help]. And because of the prevalence of fakes, many of us have become closed to The Original.

Many of us have become suspicious of The Original. Note, the fact that something is fake is actually a pointer to the fact that there is an original. Take a one thousand naira note for instance, fake one thousand naira notes can only exist because there is an original. Can someone give you a fake five thousand naira note? You know why that cannot happen? There is no original five thousand naira note. The day the Central Bank of Nigeria prints an original five thousand naira note, fakes will surface. So the fact that something is fake is proof that there is an original. I am here to tell you today that Jesus is The Original. Jesus is The Original miracle worker.

I put together a practical definition of a miracle and it states: a miracle is where the power of God causes an effect that would not have occurred if God had not intervened. A miracle is something that would never have happened if God had not intervened. However, you need to understand that God is a God of systems. God put systems in place and He is a God of order. God put the sun to rule by day and the moon and stars to rule by night. You do not need to pray at night that the day will break. The day will break because that is God’s order. However, a miracle interferes and a lot of the time reverses the natural order and systems.
