Be You

“You are the light of the world…” Matt.5:14 [emphasis added]

God has created you an original. The reason people are afraid of being authentic is because they see themselves as inferior [lower quality]. They do not believe that they are in the image of God or that there is something in them that the world needs so inferiority complex creeps in. But the truth is God has made us all unique. Inferiority complex is the lack of self-worth and the feeling of not measuring up to standard. Admire great people, learn from great people but be yourself! Inferiority complex can be confused for humility but it is not humility. Ellena Roosevelt said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”. If you feel inferior to anyone then you are responsible for feeling inferior.

God wants you to be you. God is not interested in creating clones. Unfortunately, these days it seems almost everybody wants to imitate somebody. Thank God for Pastor “So and So” but God does not want another Pastor “So and So”. He would have created more if He did. Heaven and earth are waiting for you. That is why I personally dislike the name “Junior”. Junior to who, to your father? No matter how great your father is, you are going to be greater than him. So you are not junior to anybody. It was a friend, Pastor Sola, that got me thinking in this direction. At the naming ceremony of his first son, practically everyone suggested that he should name the child Junior because of the striking resemblance. But he revolted and said his son is not junior to anybody because the boy has his own destiny. This was the first time I was hearing this and he was right.

Zechariah was in the class of the priests that offer sacrifices before the Presence of God. How high in spiritual height can his son be to be greater than that? But when his son was born, people also suggested names for the child [Junior]. Elizabeth refused and said his name is John. Thank God for mothers that will stand and face the culture and the pressure of family, and determine the destiny of their children. Zechariah beckoned for a pen and wrote that the child’s name is John. Check the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, no one bears the name Junior. No offense but the truth is your destiny is connected to your name.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for my unique destiny. Please, remove everything in my life currently that attempts to limit my unique destiny, in Jesus Name.
