Your Capacity
“He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request” 1 Chro.4:10
Yesterday, we established that the problem is not the adversity because “…God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape…” 1cor.10:13 [NKJV]. What am I saying? I am saying that the problem is not the adversity; the problem is your capacity.
When I was in secondary school, I was very playful. When we were given assignments, I always had the mind to do mine but most of the time I will forget. In my class, there were three categories of people; the ones that always do their assignments, the group that argue that the question was wrong, and those of us that are wondering if we were given an assignment. And the teacher would always refer to the first group and say please show us your assignment. And the assignment is done, problem solved.
So what am I saying? I am saying that for the group that was claiming that the question is wrong, the problem was not the question but the problem was their mathematical capacity. The problem is not the adversity you are facing, the problem is your capacity. The problem is not the problem, the problem is your depth in God. The problem is not the storms, the problem is who is in your boat?
“If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small” Prov.24:10. Does the Bible in this portion of Scripture attribute failure to the number of enemies before us? Not at all; the Bible says your strength is too small. Did the Bible say if you fail under pressure, then you have a specialized pressure? No! God’s Word says, if you fail under pressure your strength is too small. Some of us think that if we had married a different person then we would not be having problems in marriage. Your problem is not the person you have married.
Am I saying the problem you have financially is not because there is an economic challenge? That is exactly what I am saying. Am I saying the overwhelming problem you are having right now, that is not the problem? Exactly. So what is the problem? Your capacity! The day the category two people in class increase their capacity like those in category one, the problem will seize to be a problem. I pray that the God of heaven will increase your capacity, in Jesus Name.
Prayer: Father, I come before You and I ask that You will increase my capacity for problem solving, for wisdom, for knowledge, and for spiritual things, in Jesus Name.
