Negative Confessions
‘You are snared with the words of your lips, you are caught by the speech of your mouth’ Prov. 6:2 [AMP]
The third reason why some people go through intense power worship experiences and it appears that they are untouched is negative confessions. A man will have what he says. You will be filled with the abundance of the fruit of the mouth. Typical example, someone asks how is Nigeria; people are quick to reply ‘country hard oh, everywhere just jam’. When you keep saying that what do you think will happen? Thing will get harder and harder plus the ‘jam’ you have prophesied with birth. You need to sustain the miraculous environment around you with your words. ‘…let the weak say, I am strong’ Joel 3:10b. It is important to confess positively because you will have what you say. Someone asks how you are, instead of stating your current position alone; confess God’s Words position in addition. For instance, I currently feel pains in my body but I know that by the stripes of Jesus I am healed. ‘You are snared with the words of your lips, you are caught by the speech of your mouth’. Negative confessions counter what God wants to do. A Pastor shared his experience: each time his team will bring a project to him, his first response was no money. One day as he prayed, ‘Lord, I want to do your work but there are no resources’. And God said to him ‘what are you saying over the work?’ After that experience with God, he said whenever a budget is brought before him that goes beyond their resources he will say to the team, we cannot satisfy this now but queue it and God will provide for it. And Guess what, God began to provide. Jesus said ‘I will build My Church’. What are you saying because you will have what you say. What are your confessions over your children, your husband, your education, your finances, your needs and your unanswered prayers?
Prayer: Father Lord, today I take my eyes off the things I can see and keep my focus on You. Because You are my source I have all that I need spiritually, physically and materially, in Jesus Name.
