The Provider

‘But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he had denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel’ 1 Tim.5:8 [KJV].

The father is the provider. Fathers provide, that is what we are designed to do. A man that is not providing is malfunctioning, he cannot be happy. A man feels happiest when he is able to provide for his family. There was a time my wife and I needed to do something and naturally she asked me for the money. I did not have the money we needed at the time and it made me feel very bad. On getting to work that day, God blessed me with so much more than we needed. Even though I knew how much money we needed, it delighted my heart to Read the rest of this entry

The Progenitor II

‘On that very day Abraham took his son, Ishmael, and every male in his household, including those born there and those he had bought. Then he circumcised them, cutting off their foreskins, just as God had told him’ Gen.17:23

God expects the fathers to mold and determine the culture. Culture simply means ‘how people behave’. Every institution has a culture [church, family, business etc.] whether spoken or unspoken. The culture can either be directly and intentionally influenced or left to chance. God expects you as the father to determine the culture in your home. In other words your children know that there is a zero tolerance to stealing or gossip. As a progenitor, you need to be known for something and pass same to your children. In God’s Favourite Read the rest of this entry

The Progenitor I

‘Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?’ Heb.12:9 [KJV]

The foundation and purpose of fatherhood is headship. The man is the head of his wife and invariably the head of his family. To be a successful father, you must understand and deploy the power of headship. We have termed the five qualities that translate to power in headship the ‘five P’s’. Any of the ‘P’s that is lacking will translate to an erosion in that headship. And if there are a number lacking, the head technically just becomes a figurehead. Yet all that will come to an end this season in the Name of Jesus. So if you are a married Read the rest of this entry

Joint-Heirs

‘And if children, then  heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together’ Rom.8:17[KJV]

Someone I was discipling some years ago had an issue and he was about to walk out on an institution that had been a great blessing to him. Naturally, I had to step in and attempt to influence him. The issue was that his boss, a woman, perhaps had some expectations he did not meet so she was very hard on him and he was livid. While lamenting, he said ‘how can a woman talk to me like that’. At first I did not understand him, so I asked what he meant. And he said ‘I have her type at home’. I replied ‘well she also has your type at home’. He Read the rest of this entry

The Power of Headship

‘Then God said to Abraham, “your responsibility is to obey the terms of the covenant. You and all your descendants have this continual responsibility’ Gen.17:9

Every man wants to be successful. There is no man really that does not want to be successful. In fact the craving of the heart of everyman is to be successful. But if we do not understand what success really means we will end up not being successful in our efforts to be successful. The best definition of success that I have come across is the one given by John Maxwell “you are successful when the people that know you the most and are closest to you respect you the most”. That is tougher than being a millionaire, believe me. If the people Read the rest of this entry

Debunking Lies III

‘It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God’ 2 Cor.3:5

The enemy will try to put things in our way to convince us that we are insignificant and unimportant. Another lie the enemy says is that you are not good enough. He says things like, you are not so bad but you are not good enough. You need to become better to matter. The truth is that you and I can never be good enough in your own strength [Isa.64:6]. Yet in Christ Jesus, you are good enough for God. In your own strength you cannot be good enough. No matter how hard you try. It is impossible. Yet when you Read the rest of this entry

Debunking Lies II

‘So that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes’ 2 Cor.2:11

Another lie the enemy will throw your way is that you do not have enough money to make a difference. God has designed you to make a difference for Christ Jesus in your area of influence. Yet the enemy is lying to you that you do not have enough money to make a difference. And because of this lie, you have opted out of all the financial support campaigns in Church. You can make a difference even right now. You do not have to wait until you are a millionaire. Many times we think that we are at the bottom of the Read the rest of this entry

Debunking Lies I

‘But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners’ Rom.5:8

On the path to discovering your importance in God’s plan, the enemy will tell you a lot of lies.  All the lies are aimed at convincing You that You do not matter to God. Anyone who has walked with God long enough knows that the devil is a lair. If you do not know anything about the devil, know that he is a lair. If he tells you that you will fail, it is a lie, because you will succeed.  In fact, Jesus says that when he is Read the rest of this entry

Faithful in Little

‘If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities’. Luke 16:10

A lot of us have great dreams and huge ambition but God in His infinite wisdom has chosen to start us off in humble ways. The truth is your response to the little things will be your response   to the little things will be your response to greater responsibility. Instead, a lot of us, dissatisfied with the size of our dreams and size of God’s response, choose to belittle what God has given us. The reason is simple, we want the big things which causes us to be blinded to what God is doing. God is saying ‘If you’re not Read the rest of this entry

The Door

And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven’ Matt.16:19a.

A door symbolizes access on one hand and control on the other hand. If God wants you to open a door, it is safe to assume you have the keys to the door. In actual fact, God will not ask you to open a door that He has not first given you the keys to. God says ‘And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you Read the rest of this entry
