Sabbath

‘You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the LORD’ Ex.31:15a

‘Stand at the door of the tent, he told her. If anybody comes and asks you if there is anyone here, say no. But when Sisera fell asleep from exhaustion, Jael quietly crept up to him with a hammer and tent peg in her hand. Then she drove the tent peg through his temple and into the ground, and so he died’ Read the rest of this entry

Self-Will

‘For although Levi wasn’t born yet, the seed from which he came was in Abraham’s body when Melchizedek collected the tithe from him’ Heb.7:10

Self-will is another thing that you can cooperate with that will attempt to box God in your life. As previously stated, the only one who can box God in your life is you. If you cooperate with self-will, it will limit the influence of God in your lives. The danger of self-will is that it puts you in the driver’s seat instead of God. You might be wondering what exactly is wrong with being in the Read the rest of this entry

The Intangible Word

‘The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy’ Mark.4:16.

The greatest resources any man has are his intangible resources. Have you noticed that everyone seems to have similar material possessions? However, the things that differentiate us are our intangible possessions which are our greatest assets. The same thing applies to a nation or a people. Their greatest Read the rest of this entry

Stay Devoted

‘And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God’ Titus 2:12

Devotion comes with a price. Commitment to God calls for self-sacrifice. It is a choice to sacrifice your personal will for the will of God. When it’s all said and done, the only thing that will matter is how you have walked with God. It is your heart walk not whether kings served you or you served kings that will Read the rest of this entry

And God Said: Ask Anything

That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!” 1 Kings 3:5

Solomon loved the Lord and followed all the decrees of his father, David, …The most important of these places of worship was at Gibeon, so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings. That night the Lord appeared…, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!’ [1 Kings 3:3-5]. And God said and God is still saying ask anything that you want. First comes the Read the rest of this entry

Sole Authority

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2Timothy.3:16-17

You cannot live your life based solely on what people say except you are taking God out of your life’s equation. What if, what they are saying is contrary to what God is saying concerning your direction at that time? While the Word of God advices that it is wisdom to surround yourself with godly counsel; the source of this advice is the Word. It is even more wisdom to make God’s Word Read the rest of this entry

Gift vs. Giver

Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you. Gen.22:2

Never become overly attached to the gifts and lose sight of the Giver. The building is not worth more than the builder. The builder can wake up any day and build new and more beautiful houses but the building has reached the peak of its potential and all it will ever be is a building. If you hold on to what God has given you and not hold on to the Giver of the gifts you would run into Read the rest of this entry

Spiritual Harmony

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 5:24

The first thing that comes to mind when you see a picture of two people walking hand-in-hand is relationship or friendship. With God, this is the picture of spiritual harmony. Spiritual harmony is walking hand-in-hand with God. Gen5:23-24 [NLT]Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him’. In actual fact, Read the rest of this entry

Vessel Full!

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music    to the Lord in your hearts. Eph.5:18-19

Have you ever come across a jar that is filled with sugar half way and then filled with salt in the other half? The thought of this alone is displeasing. Your body is a vessel given to you by God. However, it is your choice what to fill it with. It is your choice whether to fill it with the Spirit of God unto life or wine. Just as the Read the rest of this entry
