The Difference II
Heb.12:22&24 (NIV) “But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem… to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.”
God can change His mind on a promise, but His covenant is different, and we need to understand this. With the covenant, God cannot change His mind. Let me explain. Read the rest of this entry
The Difference I
Mark 10:47-48 “When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” “Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” (emphasis added).
God’s heart consists of two attributes – His character (who He is) and His covenant (how He deals). Yesterday, we learnt that when Bartimaeus shouted, he struck Jesus’ heart. Read the rest of this entry
Cry Out!
Heb.11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
Read the rest of this entry
Be Flexible
Ps.145:8-9 “The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.”
Typically, when I am heading in a direction, I am laser-focused and I do not even want to stop. My wife can attest to this. One thing I do not like ever is, if you want me to get you something when I go out, Read the rest of this entry
Here & Near
Ps.145:18-19 (KJV) “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.”
In this season, God is challenging us in the area of prayer to keep on calling, and not to give up. God is challenging us to keep pressing in, to keep trusting and keep praying. Read the rest of this entry
See, Embrace & Push!
Luke 11:9-10 “…keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Jesus prevailed in Gethsemane before He could prevail in Golgotha. Do not stop calling, push through it. You need to go to Gethsemane [that is the place of praying] before you get to the place of actually physically doing the work of pushing in Golgotha [Calvary]. Read the rest of this entry
See & Push
Ps.144:1-2 (Voice) “Blessed be the Eternal, my rock. He trains my hands for war, gives me the skills I need for battle. He is my unfailing love and my citadel. He is my tower of strength and my deliverer. He is my shield of protection and my shelter…”
Not many people know the story behind the way I hold my pen. It is neither fashion nor am I trying to create a new way of writing. I had an exam and I had read from six o’clock in the evening to six o’clock in the morning. Read the rest of this entry
Look Beyond
Heb.12:2 (Voice) “Now stay focused on Jesus, who designed and perfected our faith. He endured the cross and ignored the shame of that death because He focused on the joy that was set before Him; and now He is seated beside God on the throne, a place of honor” (emphasis added).
Jesus was able to say, “Up, let’s be going. Look, my betrayer is here!” (Matt.26:46) because He focused on what was beyond the cross. You have to see beyond your current pain and suffering. Read the rest of this entry
Stay Sharp
Heb.12:2 (Voice) “Now stay focused on Jesus, who designed and perfected our faith. He endured the cross and ignored the shame of that death because He focused on the joy that was set before Him; and now He is seated beside God on the throne, a place of honor” (emphasis added)
There is a path that God has set before you. Accept the uniqueness of that path and accept yourself. Turning away from it means postponing the greatness of your life. Read the rest of this entry
Embrace Him
Job 23:13-14 “But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind? Whatever he wants to do, he does. So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny.”
The first thing we learn from Matt.26:36-46 (please read) on how Jesus dealt with pain and translated it to glory is, you have to embrace pain. Pain is your friend. Say it aloud, pain is my friend. Read the rest of this entry
