7th Root of Personal Disharmony: Doubt

[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides] James1:8 [AMP]

Doubt is a major pointer to personal disharmony. Doubt basically occurs when there is no harmony between your spirit man and your intellectual man. Your heart says one things and your mind says something totally different. You are in service or listening to an audio message or perhaps even studying the Bible, and then your spirit man picks up on what God wants to do. Your spirit man quickly receives the message and starts keying into it but then your mind slows things down by trying to rationalize it. Your intellectual man is trying to find a logical explanation for what God is about to do when there in fact isn’t any logical explanation possible. Then immediately your mind introduces doubt which causes a huge disharmony. ‘Can two work together except they agree?’ The bible calls such a person a double minded person. ‘A double minded man is unstable in all his waysJames 1:8[KJV]. Does such a person have harmony? You need to deal with every form of doubt in your heart. The two ways of dealing with doubt are through faith and obedience.

  1. Faith: Faith comes by hearing the word constantly. I encourage you to surround yourself with audio messages even of services you were in. Listen to it repeatedly so that your faith can be built up beyond every kind of doubt.
  2. Obedience: The second way of dealing with doubt is by obeying. Just make the move and the doubt will disappear. Perhaps, you pick up an instruction in your spirit that rattles you and perchance, the spoken word isn’t helping. Take the step inspite of the doubt.

The greatest things achieved till date were done inspite of the doubt and fear.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me harmonize my mind and my spirit my Your Spirit and Your Word. Father, perfect my obedience and help me step out inspite of fear or doubt in Jesus Name.

  1. ‘The greatest things achieved till date were done inspite of the doubt and fear.’ wow Powerful quote.
God actually works in ways what our minds cannot find rational explanations for. How do you explain the philosophy behind sowing and reaping? God is God! which is why obeying is key.
