The Womb of Adversity
‘God replied to Moses, I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you’. Ex.3:14
When you examine the revelations of God throughout scripture, a lot of these revelations were birthed in the womb of adversity. Every Christian encounters adversity at one point or the other of his/her work with God, as did the prophets in the bible, which births a new or deeper revelation of God in us. You
might think you know God as the Resurrection and the Life but not until you witness Him bring a loved one back to life. No man can teach you about God like God can teach you about Himself. Adversity arises for various reasons; brought on by our own choices, choices made ahead of us and in some cases situations God allows. ‘When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up’ Ps.27:10. Experiencing the picking up of God requires the people that are close to you abandoning you. Ask Abraham. Job after nine months of intense adversity said, ‘I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee’ Job 42:5. Adversity moves you from theoretical – head knowledge into revelation – experiential knowledge. Some people don’t want the adversity, they just want the revelation. Sorry it comes in a package. ‘But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head’. David testified but it was after he faced adversity and God showed up for him. God will show up for you. When you see people who seem to have an unusual revelation of God, check their lives they have been through some adversity. God wants to use what you are currently going through as a spring board to a higher level of revelation with Him. So I am saying to you today, that regardless of how terrible the situation is a revelation is about to burst forth
Prayer: Holy Spirit, translate my adversity into knowledge and revelation of God. Help me grasp even through adversity the Alpha and Omega; that I may testify to Your Name.
