You Need To Know V

‘Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, You work in mysterious ways’ Isa.45:15

‘This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayedHab.2:3.  Today’s devotional is a continuation of yesterday’s discourse. You need to know that God will commit to ‘what’ but He will not always commit to ‘how’. Joseph knew the ‘what’ – he was going to be above his brothers. He knew this for a fact because God showed him ‘what’ was to come. Joseph did not know that ‘how’ involved being thrown into the pit, being sold into slavery, becoming a fugitive and being thrown into prison. God expects that between the ‘what’ and ‘how’ you wait on Him. People are very opposed to waiting because they don’t understand waiting. People are quick to think waiting means inactivity, boredom. On the contrary, waiting does not mean inactivity. The fact that you are waiting does not mean you are passive. You have to engage in what has been termed the 3 ‘P’s’ of waiting. While you are waiting you have to Pray. In Acts 2, when the disciples went to wait for the promise of the Father, they prayed. There is nothing about praying that suggests passivity. If you are waiting and not praying, then you are prolonging the time. You have to pray whether you feel like it or not, just pray. Just hold onto God and pray. Secondly, while waiting, you Ponder. You think about the promise and you meditate on the Word of God. What has God said He will do and how do I position myself to better receive this promise? Most people do not like to think because it is hard work. It easier to just glide through life and hope something good will happen. Then you Prepare; you need to prepare. While you wait for the promise of a child to come forth in nine months, you prepare for the soon to come baby. Saving is preparation for the child. For those who want to get married, they have to prepare for it. If it is a job you desire, you need to also prepare for it. While you wait you pray, ponder and then you prepare. Then watch God do the ‘how’.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I ask for the grace to wait on the Father for the promise. Teach me to exchange my weaknesses for Your strength. Help me keep my focus on Your, in Jesus Name
