Battlefield
‘Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ’ 2 Cor.10:5 [KJV].
Over the past few days we have mentioned two major battlefields – the spirit realm and the mind. For many believers these days when you talk about a spiritual battlefield the only place their thoughts go is the mind. Of course the battlefield of the mind exists and it is legitimate and real [2 Cor.10:3-5]. There are battles that go on in our minds that we have to deal with. Some people are struggling with all sorts of negative thoughts. That will come to an end in your own case in Jesus Name. The enemy tries to form strongholds in your mind. Strongholds are repeated thought patterns that the enemy plants in people’s mind such that the enemy does not even need to be present to have a hold on that person because the person has owned it. These strongholds give the enemy an upper hand in the battlefield of the mind. Therefore strongholds have to be pulled down by the Word of God and by the words that we speak. Every careless thought must be taken captive and renewed with the Word of God. Even though battles go on in our minds, the spirit realm cannot be ignored. For a number of things to happen in the physical they must first be settled in the spirit realm. Battles that we encounter as believers usually take place on one or both of these battlefields and have to be settled in one or both as well. In all cases it is important to be alert so that you can react in a timely manner. But know without a shadow of doubt, spiritual warfare is real. And as a child of God you are permitted to operate in the spirit realm under the covering of the Blood of the Lamb.
‘He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty’ Ps.91:1 [NKJV]. As a believer, your spiritual habitation is under the shadow of the Almighty. So even though God has armed you with weapons for warfare, you must never war away from your spiritual habitation. To attempt battle without the backing of the Almighty would be to suffer defeat. To engage without the covering of the Blood of the Lamb is to be completely vulnerable.
Prayer: ‘I will say of the Lord, He is my refuse and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence’ in Jesus Name. [Ps.91:2-3 KJV]
