Be Aware VIII

‘My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey… With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk’ Prov.7:19 &21

The third thing you must know is that we don’t flirt with darkness. ‘Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.  Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord…’ Deut.18:10-12 [NIV]. Some believers flirt with the devil by practicing divination, sorcery, and interpreting omens. The enemy will suggest that it is harmless to find your fortune in cards. Yet all such things make you detestable to God and that is where the enemy wants you to be. ‘Engages in witchcraft, or casts spells’; there are believers who curse people that offend them. Regardless of what the person does, if you do that you are entering a territory of demons and it makes you detestable to God. There are some people who will refuse to consult mediums or spiritualists but they will send their money so consultations will be done on their behalf. You are deceiving yourself about not going yet you are sending your money. You do not flirt with darkness otherwise you are connecting yourself to evil. When you stand in the place of spiritual warfare you will be exposing yourself to danger. We do not consult the dead but there are believers who claim it is harmless. Some guy I used to know lost his father. Only his late father had possession of the documents for all the property he owned. They had searched everywhere and could not find it so a member of the family suggested consulting the dead after all it is not a big deal. So they called up the late father and he told them where to find the document and it was actually there – justification. Was it the father they called? Of course not, it was a demon spirit. You might be wondering how they knew where the document was. Truth is there is knowledge in the spirit. Demons know things; the spirit realm is bare except God hides it. The repercussions will affect generations to come. We do not flirt with the devil or with darkness. You cannot claim ignorance.

Prayer: Father, make me discerning especially about the seemingly harmless things that open me up to the devil and his demons. Lord place a covering over me, and all that concerns me physically and spiritually, in Jesus Name.
