Voice Of Direction

‘One day the girl said to her mistress, “I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy’ 2 king 5:3.

Naaman experienced five voices. We must understand these five voices. A lot of people experience the first three voices but I am praying that we’ll get to experience the last two in addition. The first voice that Naaman experienced was the voice of direction. The voice of direction said to Naaman there is a prophet in Israel. Many of us are looking for the voice of direction. Some are waiting for thunder and lightening and the voice of God. For Naaman, the voice of direction came from a little girl. You do not determine where your direction will come from. It could be someone you just met or someone who has been around you for a long time. Any one around you may have your direction to the next level. This is why I keep encouraging relationships. Naaman had been struggling with leprosy for God knows how many years but it was a little servant girl in his house that had the direction. So I say to people be careful how you treat other people. Be careful! Your next direction may be with the house-help in your house that you have been maltreating unnecessarily. You might think it is impossible but that is how God works. Remember His ways are not our ways. So be nice particularly to the people you think you have nothing to benefit from, particularly those kinds of people. Go the extra-mile to treat people well. Some ladies are so proud at serving that they end up being nasty to everyone around them. For all you know that young man who you are consistently nasty to at work might be the cousin to the man who wants to marry you. Just because you have physically assessed him and concluded that he has nothing that is of any value to you is not grounds enough for you to treat him badly. Guess what will happen when that his cousin asks him about you, he will give a bad report about you because that is all he knows about you. Then you will continue troubling your Pastor to pray with you for a husband. Yes, I feel the pain of people who lament that their next level is taking too long to materialize. But I say to you today, be careful! Be nice!

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to remain small in my own eyes. Help me recognize the voice of direction when it speaks and not to shut it out, in Jesus Name.
