Nuptial Word

‘Look in the scroll of the Lord and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Sprit will gather them together’ Isa.34:16 [NIV].

There are a lot of single Christian ladies of marriageable age who are trusting God for a Christian husband yet all their suitors are not Christians. And the number one question on their lips is what should I do? Honestly my heart goes out to them. Every real Pastor’s heart aches for his people who desire to get married and are not yet married. We are praying for you and we trust that God will bring your spouse in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Yet for our own posterity, it is in our best interest that we defer to the authority of the Word of God. What does the Word of God say concerning such matters? ‘Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty2Cor.6:14-18. It is amazing how clear and detailed God is about this particular subject. God says don’t partner with unbelievers – don’t be unequally yoked. The truth is that it is better to be single than to marry the wrong person. Ask people that are married because only they can confirm this. Some who have married wrongly are just waiting for rapture right now. I have seen the pain and I empathize with those that are trusting God for life partners but the pain of a woman married to an unbeliever is more. Just believe me when I say you do not want to be in their shoes. Stop thinking there is something wrong with you because you are single. Nothing is wrong with you; you are single and complete in Christ Jesus. I know the society preaches otherwise. Yet you are first complete in Christ and God will bring your own spouse.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace not to make costly choices out of desperation. Help me to base my life on what You say knowing my time is in Your hands, in Jesus Name.
