You Will Receive

‘So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him’ Luke 11:13

Are you one of those who haven’t received the baptism of the Holy Spirit despite attending several sessions? The first thing you need to know is that there is nothing necessarily wrong with you, just be sure that there is no un-confessed sin in your life. Some people say a Christian should not bother about confessed sins yet this is one of the things that can hinder what God wants to release into you. Be sure that there is no mental block. For some their mental block is as a result of bad experiences, wrong doctrine, or they have been taught strange things about speaking in tongues. So the mental blocks become a hindrance. Some people are too conscious of themselves or their status and as such are a hindrance to themselves. So be sure there are no mental blocks and do not doubt! ‘And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened’ Luke 11:9-10. Have you asked and it appears you have not received then keep on asking because that’s what the Bible says. A major determinant for receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is hunger. ‘Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for they shall be filled’. Those that are not hungry are filled already. So you must come hungry.

Just make sure you have those things in place, then ask and God will give you His Spirit. When I got baptized in the Holy Spirit I was alone in my room. I too had a mental block formed by questions in my mind. Yet the more I read the Bible, the more I hungered for it. At that time I was also reading a book that answered all my questions. At the end of the book the author asked ‘so what is stopping you from receiving the Holy Spirit?’ Nothing was stopping me any more and no one was looking. So I lifted up my hands and God baptized me. So no one can try to confuse me that what I have is fake.  God will baptize you too, just hunger for it.

Prayer: Father, fill me with Your Spirit! Spirit of God I welcome You into my life, be enthroned in my heart, in Jesus Name.
