Eagle-eyed II

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted’ Titus 1:15.

Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God. Yesterday we began to unpack the three-fold meaning of seeing God. The pure in heart will see God in: 1# eternity

#2: See God in communion with God: ‘Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their Saviour’ Ps.24:3-5. The pure in heart will have fellowship and a right relationship with God, and they will see God even on earth.

The pure in heart will see God in eternity whether we die and go to heaven or Jesus comes to take us home and here on earth in fellowship with Him, they will see God.

#3: In their perspectives, they will see as God sees: They will see God in situations and in circumstances. If you look at the news today, even the global news; if you look at the nation and at the economy it is all about gloom really. But those that are pure in heart will see God working even in all this confusion. I often say that I see God working in Nigeria and people think that I am in denial but I am not. ‘You’re blessed when you get your inside world-your mind and heart-put right. Then you can see God in the outside world’ Matt.5:8 [MSG]. The reason why you don’t see God working in the outside world is because you are struggling with impurities. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. God is moving in this nation. ‘To the pure all things are pure but to the defiled everything is defiled’. I was watching some pastor on TV some years ago giving an illustration for this portion of scripture. He said that if you walked into his office and saw him seated with a lady dressed like a prostitute sitting at his feet and kissing his feet and rubbing is leg what would you think? Then he linked it to Mary Magdalene because this was exactly what she did to Jesus but was Jesus defiled? What was the problem, the people who were seeing it. To the defiled, all things are defiled and to the pure all things are pure.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, cleanse me from all impurities that I am struggling with. Give me a new heart and put a new spirit in me, in Jesus Name [Ez.36:25-26].
