Encourage & Forgive

And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the Lord’ 2 Chro.35:2 [KJV]

This season you can show God’s love by giving a word of encouragement to the discouraged. Everybody can do with a word of encouragement. You will be shocked at the impact a word of encouragement can have even on a man of God. We were created for encouragement. A couple while visiting us shared how they became members of the church I pastor. They actually did not know where to worship on a Sunday morning and somehow stopped at God’s Favourite House. At that worship experience, God gave two specific Words of Knowledge that addressed her illness directly and she was healed instantly. And I said to her that every time I hear those things I never get used to it because till now I still don’t know how God does it. You may think that Pastor’s are used to seeing miracles so it cannot encourage them. Well perhaps for others but for me, it keeps me encouraged. Every time I feel God is giving me a Word of Knowledge, I am scared stiff because every time it is like “a walking on the water experience”. ‘Lord is it you, if it is you bid me to come’. You can give a word of encouragement; it does not cost you anything. And what you sow you will reap. Remember that harvest is more than the seed. So when you encourage someone you will reap a harvest of encouragement.

You can give forgiveness to your enemies. Just forgive and release that person who has caused you so much hurt in the past. Or seek forgiveness from the one who you have caused pain. In fact the wonderful thing about giving forgiveness is it releases you in return. The truth is that in setting that person free you are actually setting yourself free. You are opening two hearts for God’s warmth to enter. Vocalize your forgiveness either to the person directly or in God’s presence and find your healing instantly. In some cases it might take some time for the healing to completely take effect but I assure you that the healing will come faster than the pain lasted. Total forgiveness is possible through the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me a word of encouragement for the people that You are bringing my way and help me forgive past and present pain, in Jesus Name.
