Retention Capacity II
‘…Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon every container was full to the brim! “Bring me another jar”, she… “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing’ 2 kings 4:5-6.
You need to realize that it is your capacity that is limiting God not God’s ability. It is your capacity – your capacity to believe. You need to increase your capacity to belong. Some of us cannot keep relationships. Some people do not know how to value relationships. You need to increase your capacity to work. ‘…Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled’. That is a lot of work. If she had stopped at vessel number three and said she was tired, her back hurts, her hands are burning, and went on a complain spree. What will happen is that she will end up with just three vessels full. You need to increase your capacity to work. Unfortunately, some think favour means laziness. Not at all; favour will bring you into a level of work that you will never imagine.
We need to increase our capacity to sell. Elisha said to the woman ‘go and sell the oil’. Elisha did not say ‘go and give the oil to those who have helped you’. Return the vessels, sell the oil. Thank those who helped you. I may sound callous but that is the way to profit. You can then bless those who helped you from the profit but you must sell the oil. Elisha did not tell her a specific amount to sell the oil. All he said was sell the oil. I have had people complain about a service provider. They admit that the person’s services are impeccable but complain that the person is charging too much. If you are not willing to pay for impeccable service then leave the provider alone. The people that are willing to pay for it will pay. Stop trying to discredit him/her for making profit? God will forgive you. Say Amen. If the service provider charges a thousand dollars per week and nobody is willing to pay, will anybody teach him/her to drop the price? The market forces will determine the price. God did not say sell it at a certain price, God said go sell the oil. You determine how profitable you become. But it all starts with divine direction from God, the direction that separates you from the pack. But you can’t get the direction from God if you are not in a relationship with Him. You need to locate your oil today and the first step is what is God saying? No prophet can give you that. God wants to talk to you.
Prayer: Father, let poverty be a stranger to me and my generation, in Jesus Name.
