No Excuses

The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!”Prov.22:13.

One characteristic lazy people have in common is excuses. The lazy person always comes up with genuine and nicely packaged excuses. Think about it, someone says there’s a lion in the street and he doesn’t want to go out. If you advise the person to go out, won’t you look like a bad person? That’s the problem with the lazy man. He pitches his excuse so that when you advise otherwise, you look like a bad person.

Pay close attention and I am praying that you will understand this. It is a lot of work to consistently love a woman. A lot of thinking and strategizing goes into really loving and pampering your wife. It is cheaper to treat her shabbily and flirt with other women. I’ll tell you a true story. I was speaking to a man, telling him he needs to love his wife and the things he should do. ‘Too much work’, he said. ‘It is your wife we are talking about’ I said. And guess what he tried to do next; he tried to paint me as the enemy saying that I have gone to collude with his wife. ‘If you and your wife are in love and happy it is to your advantage’ I said. ‘No, she is my enemy’ he said. And he wanted me to pray that fire will consume all his enemies. That is the cheapest route to take. Some men will tell you that their wife is a witch and the Word of God says ‘suffer not a witch to live’. My question to you is, why are you anointed? – cast out the devil. It’s a lot of work to love a woman, now do you agree? Another man told me his mother’s ‘prophet’ saw a vision that his wife was a witch. He said he had been coming to the church I was pastoring at that time and he believes I operate in the power of God. So I asked him what he wants and he said, ‘help me deal with the witch’. But I checked with God, He cleared her, and I told the man. But he said the ‘prophet’ was always correct. I began to get upset and I told him to bring the prophet to me. I was calling for a confrontation. The man was willing but the ‘prophet’ dodged. Much later the man came back to tell me how I was right and all the things that had befallen the ‘prophet’. I said to him, ‘sir, love your wife’. It takes a lot of effort and we are traditionally lazy.

Prayer: Father, I submit to Your refining process, please purge me completely of laziness, in Jesus Name.
