Before and After II

“He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.” Luke 9:30, 32-33

You have a story and I have a story. God wants us to tell our stories for His glory. There was a time that the devil almost killed me with sickness. I took injections everyday for over forty days. That’s to show you how bad it was. But I cried to Jesus and He healed me. I can’t remember the last time I took any injection. That can only be God. Can anyone tell me that Jesus does not exist? What is your own story? ‘He answered and said, “Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see’ John 9:25. This same man can say ‘I was in darkness but now I’m in the light’. Or he could say ‘I was a beggar but now I can work. I was jobless but now I can get a job’. The Bible is just amazing!

If you examine the story in John 9:8-13, when this man’s neighbors found him and saw that he was no longer the blind man they once knew, they demanded to know what happened. And naturally the man told them it was Jesus. Guess what happened next? They were the first to find fault in the fact that Jesus healed him on a Sabbath day [how can God bless you on a Sabbath day?]. The Bible says they were the ones who carried him to the Pharisees. His neighbors and friends reported that he was healed on a Sabbath and so he deserves to be punished. And that was the beginning of the questioning. God is going to do in your life things that everybody around you will be jealous of. There is nothing wrong with this kind of jealousy; in fact it is a good thing. May you not live a life that nobody is jealous of!

You also have a story, your own before and after. Who you were before you met Christ and who you are now. You may have been a Christian and going to church for donkey years but if you look at your life and all you can see is what was, and is, and promises to be. Then you need to accept Jesus today because Jesus changes lives. I have shared several parts of my story with you, each of them unique and powerful because of where God has taken me from. Your own story has the same uniqueness and power but you need to make it ready for the Master’s use.

Prayer: Father, the story of my life is a testament of Your power, help me tell it for Your glory, in Jesus Name.
