Wellspring

“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work” John 4:34 [NIV]

You can carry the presence of God so intensely that evil around you will be exposed and I am praying that for you in Jesus Name. There was a married woman who came into my office straight from the bed of adultery. She came into my office and her body began to itch her so she ran out. She thought it was a coincidence, so she came back in and her body began to itch her again so she ran out again. And this happened the third time. I just saw her excusing herself and going back and forth. When she discovered that it was not a coincidence, she began to cry and confess to my wife and I. It is the Presence of God with you that makes the difference in soul winning. The key thing here is when you win souls, the Kingdom of God expands.

The second reason why it appears that Jesus believes in soul winning is soul winning is the way your own soul gets satisfied. Everybody that has won souls for Christ knows this joy I am talking about. It is like a wellspring. It is unexplainable. Depression equals lack of evangelism. If you will reach out to people and experience the joy of people accepting Jesus, depression will be far from you. And so shall it be in Jesus Name. Please read Luke 5: 27-32. In those days tax collectors were very corrupt people. Jesus saw Levi [Mathew] on duty in the tax collector’s booth and said ‘come, follow me and be my disciple’. Had he gone through foundational class or been baptized in water, or had he been to Bible College? Jesus is very peculiar. It is like walking up to a prostitute standing in her booth all dressed for business and saying to her ‘follow me, let us go and preach Jesus’. Many of us will say she has to be sanctified before she can evangelize. Jesus has a strange way of calling people. He calls the people you least expect. And this is why we should never write anybody off. Matthew knew he had people close to him. People that thought he was crazy. People who demanded to know why he left everything and followed Jesus. These people are far from God. Matthew threw a party and invited his tax collector friends to hang out with Jesus. I want to suggest to life group leaders- ‘throw a Matthew party’. We cannot make anyone fall in love with Jesus but we can set up a date.
