Seek Wisdom, Secure Favour

‘All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people…’ 2 Tim.3:16-17

There are things that God will show you that are just for you. Be wise not to share it with anyone. I don’t think that is what God wants you to do; perhaps just your spouse alone, but do it wisely. ‘Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures’ Prov.2:2-4. This is why you need to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit and be completely yielded to Him. You have to let Him lead you, let Him guide you in what to say or not say. Like we learnt yesterday, it will take maturity for your spouse not to become competitive. When you are propagating your dream and you make your own dream priority, you will land yourself in prison. But when you make it about other people’s dreams and you use your own dream to serve theirs, you end up in the palace. You try it out. Gather your whole extend family together and tell them that God has shown you a dream of how you will stand and they will all bow to you and find out what will happen. Even your own brothers will hate you. These scriptures are written so that we don’t make the same mistakes that Joseph did because it will land you in prison. But gather everyone together and say, this is the vision God has shown me on how we are going to save the whole world for Jesus. And guess what, everybody will begin to see their part in that vision because that is the truth anyways. And at the end of the day, God’s name is glorified.

It is not enough to have a dream or a vision, if you don’t have favour, that dream is going to become a nightmare. The first thing to secure is favour. And the first thing to know about favour is that it is at God’s discretion. The concrete way to secure that discretion, as it were, is to be in Christ so that you can be at peace with God. If Jesus is not the Lord of your life, I pray you will surrender your life to Jesus and come under the covenant of favour. I am praying for every one reading this devotional today that the wisdom that is required to bring your dreams to fruition, God will give unto you in the mighty Name of Jesus and God will be glorified.

Prayer: Lord, I now see the truth about these dreams. I ask for Your wisdom to help me navigate and bring it to fruition so that You alone will be glorified, in Jesus Name.
