‘Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety’ Prov.11:14 [KJV]

The fourth thing in authenticating your vision is counsel. I am sure you have heard this before but I will share it again and trust God for fresh revelation. There are five people in my life that I call my advisory board. They know themselves in a way but they have never come together on my account. I don’t make major spiritual decisions without clearing from these five people. So when we were sure that God wanted us to start God’s Favourite House, I checked with all five of them. All of them said the same thing without talking to each other. So for me that was a confirmation. You need people in your life that you can check with. However, they should never replace God’s voice in your life. That is the problem with a lot of us; we don’t want to hear God any more. We don’t want to pray anymore. We do not want to seek God any more. We don’t want to fast anymore. We want to buy beverages for someone to do the fasting for us. Someone says he or she wants to fast for you and you are buying provisions for him. What does he or she want to do with it? If he or she is fasting does he or she need those things? He or she is feasting and not fasting.

A lady was going through a very serious problem and she came to me so that we could pray together. I told her that what she was faced with needed serious intercession. So I told her to prayerfully engage, midnight till 3am,at her house and I would do the same in my house. And together we will pull this thing down in Jesus Name. But that day I forgot and slept like a baby from about 10pm till morning. And God did an amazing miracle that only God could have done. So she came back to me and said the prayers worked. When she was done, I told her the truth that I did not pray but rather slept. God probably allowed me to sleep to show her that ‘if you will call upon me, I will hear you’. I apologized for going back on my word. The joy of the victory helped her to forgive me quickly. Many of us will rather outsource our relationship with God. Meanwhile that is the purpose for which Christ came- so that you can have a relationship with God.

Prayer: Father, please hand pick my counselors and may Your counsel be consistent in my life, in Jesus Name.
