Right Now II

‘God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.’ Ps.46:1-2

There is a second side to our story from yesterday. The witch’s side; after confessing that she wants Jesus, the young evangelist allowed her to share her testimony. And she said that when the man smiled, confusion hit them in their kingdom. Just a smile and they were all confused. As if that was not enough, he turned his back and slept off. Who did that? Was it him? It was Jesus – the very present help. The Yoruba’s would say ‘Romonise-fayati’, in other words, The One that sends you on errand and beats His chest is right behind you. Does this not remind you of the story of Tom -the cat and Jerry -the mouse [the cartoon]. I like Jerry a lot. Some people actually prefer Tom because in their opinion, Jerry is too troublesome. But Jerry is my man. Jerry looks for trouble -Tom’s trouble and Tom is chasing him – down the alley, up the roof, through the pool, over the fence and Jerry is running for his life. Then Jerry takes a bend and Tom follows in hot pursuit but he screeches to a halt because he sees Jerry just standing there posing. This picture is out of place. So Tom moves closer and Jerry does not flinch. Tom moves even closer and then sees the Bulldog behind Jerry. Then the trajectory of the race reverses, the Bulldog is now chasing Tom and Jerry is just having fun. For some of you, the first half of that cartoon has been your story. They have been chasing you and you have been running. Today you will stop running. You will stop running and it’s not going to be because you have cheated. If you try to cheat with satan, he will kill you. You will stop running because you will come in contact with the person of Jesus – the very present help in time of trouble.

Jesus is Omega – the One that is to come – the ending. Many of us bother a lot about the end of things. A lot of people are afraid about how they will end. But guess what? You don’t need to be afraid of how you will end, because your end is Jesus. Jesus is your Omega. He is your Alpha and Omega. And because He is the Omega, He can definitely reach out into the future and correct everything in your life that would have been destructive. Do you want to know what tomorrow looks like? Look at Jesus – He is your tomorrow. Just look at Jesus. In Jesus we live, in Him we move, and in Him we have our being – our existence. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Prayer [song]: He is my everything; He is my all. He is my everything; both great and small. He makes my life complete; makes everything new. He is my everything; and what about you? Father this is my confident song in all things, in Jesus Name.
