How Will You Respond?

“One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” John 5:5-6

The pool of Siloam was God’s answer to healing for a lot of the people at the time. When it gets stirred, the first person that gets in gets healed regardless of the disease. This man had been there for thirty-eight years waiting for his turn – his own answer. But each time the pool was stirred, before he could get in, somebody always got in before him. Jesus was passing by and saw him and he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” And the man looked at The Answer asking him a question and his response was, “I can’t, sir….” John 5:7. The man was stuck in the process of healing while The Healer was right beside him. Sometimes God is asking us a question to help us but we are saying to God ‘I need to pray, then fast then I need to do vigils’. And God is saying, ‘No, my question is, would you be made whole?’ Jesus asked this man the same question and the man kept on talking and talking. Jesus probably said if I wait for this man nothing will happen. He grabbed him by the right hand and said, “I say unto you get up, take up your mat, and walk”. And the man got up and walked. Jesus is going to ask you a question today to help you. For some, He has asked you already and for others, He will still ask you.

Jesus said to His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” And it’s a valid question; it’s a question every leader should ask whether directly or indirectly. Even if you are leader in your house, you should ask your wife, “Who do you think I am?” Some wives cannot discern their husbands. They don’t know who he is so they are treating him like crap. And guess what? A little girl out there has discerned and is willing to die for him and even kill other women to secure her place with him. Not any of you reading this today; you will discern your spouse correctly in Jesus Name. Jesus asked his disciples and Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. And Jesus said, “flesh and blood did not reveal that to you”. Do not rely on your senses to determine the person who you want to discern; always rely on God. You do not know your spouse. You have been with him/her for fifteen years I know; but you don’t know him/her. Ask the Lord and He will tell you.

What question is God asking you? What questions do you have that The Answer cannot answer? You need to go to Jesus. For some, you finally understand this thing about eternal life and what it means to be born again. Let your response be, “Yes Lord, come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. I believe You died for me and I surrender to You Jesus”.

Prayer [song]: It’s Your mercy that makes me come into Your Presence, my Helper. It’s Your answers that make my come into Your Presence, my Helper. You are my helper…
