Get This Going

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” Josh.1:8.

Yesterday, we began to share meditation strategies to help us get hands-on with meditating on God’s Word. And we said, take a scripture like John 3:16 and engage it by reciting it. What reciting does is it puts the Word on your lips. Then just ponder on that Word while you are repeating it. And while your mind is engaged and focused on that scripture, if you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, begin to pray in tongues. If you are not baptized in the Holy Spirit this is the best time and place to desire it and stretch your faith. Perhaps the scripture you should be engaging and meditating on is, “so if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him” Lu.11:13. And just watch what the Holy Spirit will do. Engage the scripture and pray in tongues and just stay there. And by the time you are done, the abundance of life will be totally overwhelming. So when you bring that scripture to bare on a situation guess what happens? The abundance of life flows because it’s coming from a place of power. The situation will have to crack. Another way is listening to CD’s or mp3 messages and songs with Christian lyrics. For instance, you are driving and just listening to the Word. Meditate on the Word of God as you listen to it and speak it. The third way is speak the Word over and over, confess it to yourself. The pressures of life have many things to distract us but just confess the Word of God. I am not saying deny where you are. Someone said, he had been confessing that he is strong but this pain he was feeling was killing him and he needed to say the truth. He doesn’t understand how it works. He thinks he needs to lie for the pain to go. Not at all! Acknowledge that you feel pain in your body but confess God’s Word that by the wounds of Jesus you are healed. Not that you deny it but you bring a superior Word to bare.

The third progression is obey. Just do it, obey God. “…so you will be sure to obey everything written in it” Josh.1:8. You have read the Word and you are meditating on the Word. But for your life to be fruitful and successful what you need to do is do it. Just obey the Word. Just obey the Lord. You have read my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, you have meditated on it so it is in your spirit. The next progression is just do it. These things I am sharing with you are so simple but so powerful. If you get this going in your life every phase of your life will be successful in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Lord, help me study the Bible continually, meditating on it day and night, and obey everything written in it so that I will prosper and succeed in all I do, in Jesus Name.
