Come What May
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take” Prov.3:5-6
I knew I was going to serve God but I never knew it was Pastoral, whatever my hand found to do I did with all my heart. I have served in almost every unit in Church, I have served in the technical unit, I have parked cars, I have served in Junior Church [God bless the children], I have served in the choir, I have served in prayer unit. And when I was serving I honestly never thought I was going to be a Pastor. But whatever unit I found myself in, I served with all my might. When you do that, you will discover that there are some things that you enjoy doing but you are not good at. I have heard people say once you enjoy doing something and you put your heart to it nothing can stop you. I am certain you have this statement as well. But that is so wrong. Have you watched American idols auditions? Have you not seen those people who think they are actually singing but everyone else is laughing? Will that amount to anything even if they love it and put their whole mind to it? I don’t think so, at least not in singing. Personally there are things that I enjoy doing but I am not good at and there are things that I am good at but I do not enjoy doing. I love children by the grace of God but I do not enjoy serving in Junior Church, every child wants your attention at the same time. I used to play the keyboard; the children’s Church in the Church I used to attend back in the day had their own equipment so I was sent to play the keyboard for them. You think some people sing off key? Go and play for children! While I am trying to get the key for one person, another person starts confusing the song. Then finally I say acapella because there is no point, all their passionate pitches cannot fit on one keyboard at the same time. When God delivered me from Junior Church, I knew I was not going back. Junior Church leaders and teachers are fantastic people, they are anointed to do that what they do and God bless them. The point is God took me through that process and while I was there I gave it my all.
Many times we are too busy offering God our plans while God is saying to us why don’t you offer Me your hands. You are saying to God these are my plans and God says show Me your hands. All I need are your hands and I will make My plans come to pass. Martin Luther King junior says, “The purpose of life is not to be happy, nor to achieve pleasure nor avoid pain, but to do the will of God, come what may.” That is just so amazing.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I offer my hands to You please help me do Your will come what may, in Jesus Name.
