How To… III

“So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world” Col.3:5

What to “put to death”: “…Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world” Col.3:5 [emphasis added]. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality; in other words do not even flirt, which is what it means to have nothing to do with it something. Some people will say they did not really have intercourse, they just said dirty things on the phone, that is not sin is it? Or he did not touch me, I just sent him a nude picture, I have not sinned have I? Or we did not sleep together we just did “oral”, is that a sin? The questions people ask these days, I look at them and I say, really? You can ask that question with your mouth? The Word of God says have nothing to do with sexual immorality. If she is not your wife and if he is not your husband, you have no business flirting with him or her. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality. Have nothing to do with impurity; anything that defiles you or anything that makes you impure, have nothing to do with it. Put it to death, do not keep it alive, put it to death! Lust, put it to death! If there is something that the current world puts in your face, it is the reality of your sexuality. With the underlining message if you have it flaunt it. A little cleavage will not kill anybody, will it? Almost like they are challenging you. But God is saying these things can drag you to the dogs. Put it to death, do not pamper it, do not toy with it, do not think you can educate it, do not think you can control it. Put it to death! Evil desires. What is an evil desire? An example of an evil desire is, you see a man and his wife going to church and loving Jesus but your thoughts are if she dies I will be the one to marry this man. Sadly, people are having such thoughts in church. At a midweek service years ago, the Lord told me that a lady there was actually praying that a man’s wife cannot take care of him because when he gets to the office she has to be the one to make him look good. So everyone that is sitting on her inheritance should be removed. At the end of the service she was livid because the truth is bitter. She told her friend that invited her to church that she would never come visit again. But she kept coming back and today she is a Pastor. God will give you your own husband. You do not need to wish another woman dead just to have a husband. In fact, that man you think is so good, by the time he shows you who he really is, you probably will thank God that He didn’t bring him your way in the first place.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, please purge my heart and rid me completely of evil desires, lust, impurity and sexual immorality, in Jesus Name.
