Seed Of Excellence

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was found in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm” Daniel.6:3 [KJV]

Excellence is what sets you apart from average. To excel is to go beyond the ordinary. An excellent person is always preferred and selected above people who are just good. God has placed a seed of excellence in everyone He created. All we need to do is develop that seed up to the fruit bearing stage. Daniel did not become excellent when he interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. His excellence did not start when he interpreted the writings on the wall, neither did it start when the king put him in charge of the whole kingdom. His excellence, call, and the plan for his life started even before he was born. It started with the same seed of greatness that God has put in each one of us. You must understand what Daniel knew in his days. Daniel knew that excellence though implanted must be grown by the Spirit, the Word, and in the Presence of God. While there is a place for predestination, you need to understand that there is also a part where you have to act on.

Ignore the people who say you would not amount to anything in life because God’s seed of excellence is in you. Your responsibility is to grow that seed. Disregard every report of barrenness because God’s report and Word for you is that you are fruitful “Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Gen.1:28. What you need to do is prophesy the Word repeatedly in every situation. Discount it when people say you will never marry. God said none shall lack their mate “Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them” Isa.34:16 [KJV]. Get into the habit of declaring God’s covenant over your life daily. Daniel never missed his quiet time. Attaining excellence comes through hard work and making God priority. Daniel did not wait for greatness before striving for excellence. He attained excellence by the Holy Spirit and greatness came. He made God’s commandments priority. Without which he would not have been able to interpret dreams or read the writing on the wall. The demands of greatness did not deter Daniel’s spirit even when he was thrown into the lion’s den. Make God your priority and you are steps away from manifesting the excellence that God has placed in you since the beginning of time.

Prayer: Father, help me to excel in every area of my life. Let the seed of excellence You have put in me bear fruit abundantly, in Jesus name. Amen.
