Pay Attention!

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…” Zech.4:10

A lot of times we are so caught up with racing to the top that we miss out on vital lessons we need to learn along the way to the top. Never ignore the things you think are time wasting or useless. Most of the time, these are the lessons you will need in future. We are always so caught up with the seemingly big things that we tend to miss out on, overlook, and grumble about the seemingly little things God is doing. “He who is faithful in little will be faithful in much”. It is the little things that God has begun that will lead you to the greatness you seek. You cannot afford to despise the days of little beginning. God is watching your reactions to the seemingly little things as this will determine whether you are ready for greatness or not. When you appreciate whatever position you are in and serve diligently, you glorify God and He promotes you. God knew where He was taking Abraham; it had already been planned out. God probably wanted to see how Abraham would react to following the leading of His voice before establishing His covenant with him. Abraham did not complain, he did not grumble, or question God. Abraham’s heart was right and that is why he could walk with God and God could walk with and then work on him. God rewarded his humility and devotion with greatness. God has placed you under that boss to teach you humility and gratitude. Stop wasting all your time grumbling. Guess what? Until you learn what God wants you to learn you have to remain in that classroom. The key to leaving the wilderness is learning the lessons. Unless you lose the slave mentality, you will not appreciate the Promised Land. Do not spend forty years on a journey of forty days. In fact, it is my prayer that you and I will not spend forty years on a journey of forty days in Jesus Name. The school of the Holy Spirit is never easy but no education anywhere else can prepare you for where God has planned for you. When you rejoice and endure the little beginnings you are able to relish the glory of greatness much longer. The days of little beginnings are not days of lazy beginnings. The Bible says, “the Lord rejoices to see the work begin”. The foundation of every project is the most important part. God wants to teach you the little things that lead to establishment. Pay attention. “He tells us everything over and over—
one line at a time,
one line at a time,
a little here,
and a little there!” Isa.28:10. Excusing laziness at your foundational stage will only lead to lack.

Prayer: Father, please open my eyes to see the things You are teaching me for the place You are taking me, in Jesus Name.
