Value-Eternal!

“God is ready to overwhelm you with more blessings than you could ever imagine so that you’ll always be taken care of in every way and you’ll have more than enough to share” 2Cor.9:8 [VOICE].

There are only two things of eternal value on earth. Number one, the Word of God. Number two, the souls of men. Everything else on this earth will go. So if I cannot invest in the Word of God, if I cannot invest in the souls of men then I am not investing in eternity. If I cannot invest in taking care of people, in helping people that are poor, in just putting smiles on other people’s faces, if I cannot do that then I am not investing in eternity. If I cannot invest in spreading the Word of God and the fame of Jesus, then I am not investing in eternity. Jesus said, I was hungry you fed me, I was naked you clothed me, I was in prison you visited me. Those are the only two things that have eternal value. What I am saying is this, God has called you and I to be stewards. What we have does not belong to us because who we are is not even ours, we do not own ourselves. So I have made up my mind and I think you should too to invest my life in the things that have eternal value. I have made up my mind to invest my life in the Word of God, in ensuring the Word of God prospers on earth. And I have made up my mind to invest my life in the souls if men. In ensuring that other people are helped.

God wants you and I to understand stewardship because everything we own is a test of our affection, our devotion and our trust. Everything! So what next? How do we begin to approach stewardship practically? Firstly, I am going to challenge you to give away something you own to someone that cannot pay you back. See it as giving to Jesus and it will inform your giving. Secondly, I want you to list three of “your possessions” that you are most attached to or take credit for. Then get a sticker and write on that sticker God’s and place it on each of those items. It could even be your children that you take so much credit for, start to call them “God’s children” as opposed to “my children”. What this will do is burn stewardship into your heart and empower you to look to God as your Source in all things. Thirdly, for those who have not began to tithe I want to challenge you to take the tithe challenge. Put God to the test! Tithe faithfully for three months and if in three months God has not proven Himself then ask for your money back. You would want to talk to your Pastor first before you start so that he is aware. God honors His Word above all His Name, get ready to be overwhelmed!

Prayer: Father, help me overcome materialism so that the things that you have put me in charge of will not own me. Lord, I am a steward, your steward. I am not the master. I acknowledge You as Sovereign and my Source, In Jesus Name.
