“You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance” Ps.65:11

We are totally grateful to God for the One who brought us into the first day of 2015 has brought us to the first day of the last month in 2015. We can confidently face the remaining days in this year and look forward to 2016 because God is good and He is able to do what He has promised. This year has attempted to take some of us with it but it has failed and we will see 2016 and beyond in Jesus Name. When you look back at the fast expiring year and at your life that is rapidly advancing, you will agree that a lot has happened. You had challenges, some losses, pains, promotions, and you had breakthrough in business. When you chronicle all your experiences this year, I am confident that one truth will be reinforced in your heart. And that truth is the fact that God is good.

“You crown the year with a bountiful harvest…” God always crowns the year with His goodness. Every year is different, with different experiences and different emphases for individuals and for a community. God is just amazing. For example, for the Jews at the end of the sixth year, God gives them three years harvest. They sow normally from year one to five and reap a normal harvest. And in the the sixth year, they sow the same as the past five years on the same expanse of land but God gives them three years harvest. Every year is different. Jubilee does not happen every year and not every year is a year of release. Some years God emphasizes the outpouring of His power among His children. But some years God emphasizes on cisterns of Holiness. And in some years God emphasizes prosperity. But regardless of how different the year is, God always crowns the year with His goodness. And I am praying that God will crown your life with His goodness in Jesus Name. There is a year of peace and there is a year of challenges but God regardless of what this year has been for you, God will crown it with His goodness.

God’s goodness must be recognized and acknowledged. Our challenge as human beings is recognizing God’s goodness. Many times we go through life without really stopping to recognize God’s goodness. Which is why we have to put systems in place to help us stop, reflect, take stock, and just thank God. In God’s Favourite House, by God’s grace, we have instituted a culture of thanksgiving. We have set aside every first Sunday in every month just for thanksgiving. Guess what? It is only the living that can thank God.

Prayer: Father, may I never forget the good things You do for me. Thank you for forgiving all my sins and healing all my diseases [Ps.103:2-3]. Thank You Lord, in Jesus Name.
