A Crown

“You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance” Ps.65:11

I am declaring over you today that God will crown this year with His goodness for you in Jesus Name. What does it mean to crown? A crown signifies three things; first thing is a crown dignifies, adorns, and it honors. A crown on your head is a sign of dignity and honor, it adorns you. I am praying in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that before this year runs out, you will be dignified, you will be adorned, and you will be honored. God will crown this year with His goodness for you. The second thing is the crown surrounds and encloses the head. “For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shieldPsalm5:12 [NKJV]. That same word surrounds is the same word crown. So I am praying today that God will surround you with honor, surround you with favor, and surround you with dignity in Jesus Name. The third thing a crown signifies is completeness and completion. As crown finishes and it completes. The expression to crown something is like icing on the cake. It is like completion of the subject. I prophesy that everyone that has begun this year, if Jesus tarries, will see 2016 in Jesus Name. And you will experience a completion, even on things that you begun this year and now appear abandoned. When God crowns the year with His goodness, how do we respond to God’s goodness? We are going to share four main ways to respond to God’s goodness;

The first way we respond to God’s goodness is to Thank God. This appears obvious right? But sometimes we just do not thank God. God does something that we could never have done in our own strength but we just do not thank Him. Instead, we move quickly to something else. You did an exam or you perhaps had a surgery, other people that have done it did not succeed or survive but here you are alive and well. Is that not cause for thanksgiving? The story is told of a woman that took her son to the beach, and watched him play from a distance because she did not want to get her feet wet. Then suddenly a wave came and carried the boy away. And the woman pointed to God, I pay my tithe, go to church, pay offerings, and I evangelize. How can you allow this to happen? Then miraculously, the wave brought the boy back. The mother grabbed her son but what she said next was shocking. She said to God, where is his face cap? Instead of thanking God for restoring her child; funny right? But this is the reality with a lot of us but I am praying that will change today.

Prayer: Father, I pray that my number one response to your consistent goodness in my life will be abundant wholehearted thanksgiving, in Jesus Name.
