Heart Affairs I

“… and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark… and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” Rev.20:4

Do not be afraid of fire! As a Pastor, a couple of times people have to said to me ‘do not worry about this Jesus we will give you money’. Money for Jesus, is that not a foolish choice? Very foolish! I am not afraid to go through the fire because when I go through the fire there is a higher revelation of the Person of Jesus that I see. And I experience the companion in the fiery furnace – Jesus Christ of Nazareth. By the time it is all said and done it will all come down to who did you bow down to. It is not going to be about how many church services you attended. It will be who did you bow down to. Who actually owned that heart of yours?

When it comes to God there are two types of worship. The first is vain worship and the second is true worship. Every time we come, whether individually or corporately to worship there is vain worship and there is true worship. In every church on earth when God comes to breath upon His people He will see vain worship and true worship. Our prayer is that in God’s Favourite House and in our homes individually, when God looks at every heart all He will see is true worship in Jesus Name.

What is vain worship? “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me,…Matt.15:8-9 [KJV, emphasis added]. So vain worship is when all you are doing is mouthing your worship and adoration of Jesus but it is not actually coming from your heart. It is just lip service, you are paying lip service. You are singing “Jesus at the center of my life” in church but in reality Jesus is not the center of your life at all and you know it. Vain worship is when you are paying lip service to God. I once had to consult for an organization and because we are outsiders so to speak we are subject to different rules than the staff. For a year and a half I saw the staff pay lip service to the boss when the boss is around, professing loyalty. But when the boss steps out these same people display their disloyal heart towards the boss. If you are reading this and running an organization and you are flattered by people that say they are loyal to you, then you are a big fool. I apologize but I think you are a big fool. Why, because Proverbs says if you put your ear to the wall you will hear your servant cursing you. Sadly, many times we do the same thing to God. We profess loyalty with our lips but in our hearts we know who is really calling the shots. Vain Worship!

Prayer: Father, purify my heart towards You Lord so that I will always draw near to You with a hundred percent heart, in Jesus Name.
