“Philip said, ‘Lord show us the Father…’ Jesus answered, ‘Don’t you know me, Philip? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” John 14:8-9

The quest for God has been on for a while. “Philip said, ‘Lord show us the Father…’ Jesus answered, ‘Don’t you know me, Philip? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” So if you want to know the Father, look at Jesus. And this is love that God is a Person and not a power. A lot of us can relate to God as a power, some force that can do stuff. God has power but God is a person. And that is so comforting because it means I can know Him. I can grow in my relationship with Him. I can relate with Him. I can talk to Him and He can talk to me. I can know God personally. “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are…” 1Jn.3:1 [emphasis added]. This is love, that you can be called a child of God. Some of us think about God and we think about judgment and get scared. But scripture says, “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evilJohn 3:18-19. Say out loud, there is no Judgment against me. The truth is if you do not follow Jesus, God is not judging you but you are under judgment already. But when you follow Jesus, you are coming out of judgment.

A Pastor invited a much younger Pastor to minister. The guest minister started with a story about three people who went fishing, a father, his son and the son’s friend. The father and son were believers but the son’s friend wasn’t but they loved him anyway. It just so happens that there was a storm and the boat capsized. The father could swim but the son and his friend could not but he could only save one person. So him and his son looked at each other and the father said to the son, see you on the other side because he knew his son was going to heaven. So he saved his son’s friend, by the time he got back his son was gone and his sorrow was so deep. While he was telling the story, some people in the church were thinking who could do that? And the young man said, this is a true story. I am the young man and your pastor was the father. He let his son go because he knew the eternal destiny of his son but was not sure of his friend. As a result that young man responded to God and he is preacher. God has given His Son up for you, what will be your response?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, my response to You is yes! Thank You Lord for calling me Yours and thank You because in You I am free from judgment, in Jesus Name.
